How do I register for N. C. withholding tax identification number?
You must submit a completed business registration application, Form NC-BR, Business Registration Application for Income Tax Withholding, Sales and Use Tax, and Machinery, Equipment, and Manufacturing Fuel Tax, to obtain a withholding tax identification number. You can submit Form NC-BR electronically or you can mail it to: N. C. Department of Revenue, Post Office Box 25000, Raleigh, N. C. 27640. After your application is processed, you will be mailed information concerning your N. C. withholding tax account number and pre-printed forms on which to report and submit your payment of the tax withheld.
