How do i remove a 05 Volkswagon Caddy ignition barrel?
I have a 05 VW Caddy SDI. I drove home the other evening turned off the van and went into my house for 20 minutes, I came out hopped into my van and as i did the steering locked i then put the key in the ignition and the ignition wouldn’t turn. I have: checked the ignition and there is nothing stuck in it ensured the key goes all the way in, not tried spare key because my brother lost it. rattled the steering wheel to free it up Pushed the van back and over the drive, Sprayed WD40 down the ignition to try and free I spoke to a mechanic, he said to remove the ignition barrel and if the ignition wouldn’t turn its the barrel, if it does turn then its the steering column. Has anyone seen a similar problem and what do i need to do to remove the ignition barrel.
