How do I remove an olive oil stain from suede skirt ?
FoxyLady, suede does not respond well to washing with water so any water based detergents will RUIN YOUR SKIRT COMPLETELY. You need to treat it DRY!!. 1) Place the skirt on a flat surface where you can leave it undisturbed over night. 2) Pour a generous amount of baby talc over the oil stain. 3) Use something very hard to press the talc powder into the stain- DON’T RUB or you’ll ruin the surface, just press. 4) Leave the skirt undisturbed for a good 8 hours. 5) Use the upholstery attachment on your vacuum cleaner to remove the baby talc from your skirt- you’ll be amazed, all or at least most of the oil will be gone, absorbed by the talc and sucked away by the vacuum cleaner. If a faint stain remains, repeat the process again because: a) Dry cleaning may not even be able to remove the stain completely & there is usually an extra charge for tricky stains. b) Once the skirt gets dry cleaned, if the stain is still there- it will be REALLY tough to shift after that. c) This method ABSOLUTEL
