Concrete or WoodPour mineral spirits on a cloth and let the cloth sit on the carpet glue until the glue is moistened. Use a wide scraper or putty knife to scrape off the glue. If the glue becomes difficult to scrape off, apply more mineral spirits directly to the glue. When you have removed as much of the glue as possible with the scraper, wipe the floor with a cloth to remove glue residue. Wash the the concrete or wood with an appropriate floor cleaner. Rinse and let air dry.CarpetScrape off as much of the glue as you can, taking care not to damage the carpet fibers. Apply a water displacement product (such as WD40) to a cloth and gently scrub the glue. Continue until the glue is removed. If this method doesn’t work, apply dry cleaning solvent to a cloth and dab the glue until it is gone. Wet a cloth with warm water, and rinse the area.
