How do i remove mould from a acrylic painted canvas?

Hiya’ Yes you can remove mould from an Acrylic painting but it depends on what you have painted on as to how careful you need to be. Acrylic is a water-based paint but only uses water as a vehicle. Once the paint is dry it becomes a plastic polimer and should be water resistent. Therefore the mould should only be living on the sufface of the painting and should not have entered into the paint its self. Use a damp cloth with the tinyest smidging of soap and wipe carefully. Do Not Rub hard or you might just break the surface of the paint. If you have painted the acrylic onto canvas or board then the job should be fairly straight forwards but if you have painted on paper make sure that the paper doesn;t get too wet or it will buckle. As for re-touching the painting there should be no problem with that at all. If you run into difficulty contact me on Les4art@yahoo.co.uk or you might find what you are looking for on my websight : www.Les4paintings.co.uk. Good Luck.
