The specific conditions could require a different method each time. Perhaps using a cleaning solution and clean the oxidized spot. Polish, buffer and find some touch up paint would be effective in your situation.

i use flitz paste polish the stuff is great. just take the polish and apply liberally to a clean oxidized surface and then buff it using a buffer or buff ball and drill. if you really cant get your hands on those you can do it by hand but it will take some time. after buffing it clean it one more time with a rag and wax it for extra shine.
