Getting the tile of is the easy part. All of the above will work. The clean up is not so fun though. Be sure to remove all thin-set from the wall, you may have to sand,so you have a smoothe surface to start the new tile on. Wear a mask for all the dust and keep the door closed with the window open (if possible) to keep the dust from going into other rooms.  more

You didn't say what type of tiles are on the walls. If they are ceramic tiles, you'll have the use a pry bar and heavy hammer to chip & pry them out (it will be messy, so use a drop cloth to cover up what you don't want covered with debris.) Make sure the wall behind the tile is mold free & in good condition.  more
