How do i repair a bleach stain in my carpet?

Depending on where the spot is – high traffic path or not, the size and color of your carpet, you might be able to cover it up by using a Sharpie permanent marker. I’ve used a Sharpie to make a bleach spot less obvious on jeans, black pants, black suede boots, red shirt sleeve, even to cover up a scratches on high heel shoes. Sometimes it fades when the clothes are washed, but I just color it back again. It’s better than not wearing the clothes ever again! Remember using the Sharpie trick is permanent, so be sure the color is not too dark before you do it, or it will be worse! You could use a water based marker too, which will give you more color choices, but you might have to reapply it occasionally as it fades away over time. If using a color marker won’t work for you, maybe you can move your furniture around to cover the spot, If that’s not a go, then your only other choice is to replace your carpet. I hope this helps you! Good Luck!

Bleach Stains are exactly as the name implies. Stains are caused by any permanent color change. Stains can be either caused by added color or missing color. If the color change is not permanent then the spot is not a stain. Bleach stains are very easy to repair with the correct knowledge. Common sense would tell us that in replacing the missing color, we should use the same type of dye that was originally there. Rite dye should never be used. Other forms of dye may make repairing the carpet more difficult after finding that these do not work. The correct dye should be carpet mill dye. A person may contact a professional. Many carpet cleaners offer this service. You may also consider repairing the color yourself, by contacting companies that sell dye kits. If you use either a professional or do it yourself, you need to ask a few questions. Ask the company what type of dye they use. This is important as some companies may use a quick fix with a dye stick or crayon. These tend not to be a

There are more choices then just one. I have used permanent markers on small spots and find that markers are a bright brilliant color and carpets are mostly mat finishes or whats called de-lustered colors. The carpet dye sticks are the best thing I’ve found for bleach and red stains on carpets. If you patch it there is a little known trick that even most carpet cleaners and repair men don’t know. Like Kinkstar says “Depending on where the spot is – high traffic path” If the spot or stain is in a worn area than the patch may look odd because of the differents between the never walked on patch from extra carpet or the closet and the worn high traffic area stained carpet. So what I do is when patching I steam the patch. Let me explain. carpet is seamed together by using a seaming tape that is hot melt glue on a tape, typically the iron that melts the hot melt tape goes under the carpet while the seam is being made but on a small patch there is no room for the iron to go under the carpet,

Randy raises huge questions. If a stain is not a stain unless it is permanent then how is it that so many companies sell stain removers? Duh!! If you take a carpet from the mill and take some of the dye from that same dye lot of that carpet and use it to dye a bleached out area on that same carpet with the same dye it will not bring the color back to the way it was before the spot. This is because the carpet was not bright yellow when it was dyed at the mill and because the chemical what ever it is ( high Ph or low Ph)(Bleach or acid) has changed the chemical comparison of the fibers. So don’t be fooled by these guys selling caustic acid dye chemicals for home owners. And liquid acid dyes will do nothing but add to the problem if the stain is darker than the carpet color. Liquid acid dyes can not lighten a color because they are not paints nor inks and will just mix with the color of the spot. Unless you are a trained professional carpet dye tech with an arsenal of at least 4 different
