The 2001 BMW 3 Series is part of the E46 generation. The 3 Series is a mid-size coupe, sedan or convertible that offers attractive looks, strong performance and German reliability. The E46 cars have small reflectors at each corner of the front and rear bumpers. Over time, these can become chipped, scratched and faded. In order for the car to look its best, they may need to be replaced. This is an easy job that only requires a screwdriver and a rag to protect the paint. Study the new reflectors that you are installing so that you get an idea of where the tabs and springs are located. This will help in removing the old bumper reflectors. Begin with the front bumper. Hold a piece of cloth against the corner of the reflector. Use a screwdriver to pry between the lower edge of the reflector and the bumper, keeping the cloth between the screwdriver and the bumper.
