Prepare SinkWipe down both the sink drain hole and the underside, or seat, of the sink drain ring with a clean cloth. Ensure both surfaces are clean and dry for a tight, lasting seal.Dry RunAssemble the drain pieces to ensure a proper fit before any sealant is in place. Place the drain ring in the sink, and tighten from below, noting any adjustments. Familiarize yourself with how the finished drain will look to speed installation and reduce possible mess and mistakes. Once ready, remove the pieces and prepare for final installation.Final InstallationPut a bead of silicone caulk or plumber’s putty around the sink hole where the drain will sit. Ensure there are no gaps. Place the drain ring in place, and tighten from below to make a final seal. Wipe away any excess silicone or putty that squeezes out into the sink bowl.
