How do i set up the thermometer for my bearded dragon tank?
Regardless of what kind of tank you have, thermometers are generally set up more or less the same way. First, make sure you are using the right kind of thermometer for your beardie. The stick-on circular type thermometers tend to be very inaccurate. The kind you want to use is the kind with a wire and probe, like this one: http://s3.amazonaws.com/tc-photos/11442/… If you have a similar one, then good. You use this just by laying the probe on the floor or basking spot, whichever you want to measure. It is a good idea to get two thermometers so you can monitor both the basking temperatures and cooler side of your beardie’s cage.
