You can do this with an abrasive cleanser or a simple solution of cream of tartar and lemon juice. Simply sprinkle the cleanser on the rusted area and scrub a bit with a damp cloth, then rinse. Or you can sprinkle the rusted area with cream of tartar and add a few drops of lemon juice to it. Scrub with a clean cloth and then rinse away. The rust should be gone. If not, repeat the process.
