Instead of using net stop, you could use VBS scripts to stop and then restart the service. You could use these as separate programs, and use the “Run another program first” method, OR you could put everything together in one VBS script that stopped the service, ran your installer, and started it again. I’d use “Run another program first” personally, so I’m getting true reporting out of the MSI install.
