A great way to have your dog let you know when he wants to go outside to potty is hang a bell from the door knob. Each time you go to take him outside jingle the bell in front of him and say ” outside “. Do this a few times and even take a paw and touch the bell to ring and say outside then take him out. Eventually he will see that ringing the bell means I get to go outside. This way you don’t have a loud barking dog at your door wanting to go out every 5 minutes. The bell is less annoying.
