How do I: Trace a line to split a polygon using the "streaming" function?

• First, set some preliminary settings in Editor/Options/General tab. Set snap tolerance to 100 map units (feet), stream tolerance to 1 map unit, group 20 points (this is how many vertices will will be deleted together if you hit "undo"). • Start editing the sale polygon shape and set snapping to vertex and edge (must be both) of the road shape file only. • Select sale polygon to be split. • Select sketch tool. • Hover over the road outside the sale, left click to begin sketch, then right click and turn on "streaming" from pull down menu. • Without clicking, follow road as closely as possible with crosshairs of cursor until you can exit polygon. (You can deviate from the road at any time - if you are within the 100 foot snap tolerance, it will "trace" road, if you are outside that tolerance you will be freehand streaming.
