How do i train my rabbit to do a crap in its litter box?
First rabbit do better if they are spayed or neutered about litter box habits. They can’t hold the poop as well as a cat can so some times if the area is beg or many rooms more than one box might be needed. It is best though at first to limit the amount of area they have out side a cage until they are good at litter box habits. Then you can slowly increase the area in which they roam. Like I said more than one box might be needed. My rabbit is free roaming and she goes back to her box. One or two poops outside the box might be their way to say this place is mine. Like with a cat they prefer a nice clean litter box and if too dirty or urine soaked will seek another place to go.
My sister has a bunny and she bought special litter box training pellets to put in his litter box. They basically work by smell… the way they smell reminds the rabbit that it has to use the bathroom, and then while it is there smelling that smell, it uses the bathroom. Then it’s supposed to get used to going to the bathroom when it’s in its litterbox, so then later when it realizes it has to go to the bathroom it goes to the litterbox. My sister’s rabbit is still a baby and she mostly keeps it in its cage so it doesn’t have an opportunity to get too far from the litterbox, but the vast majority of the time it goes in its litterbox.
