What you can try to do is open My Computer and right click on the iPod and choose Open as Portable Media Device. Upon opening it there should be a file in the iPod called Music, it should have other files (like F49 and so on) each of these files hold your music. Copy each to your computer (such as drag and drop onto your Desktop), it should take a while. You will have all your sogns on you computer but the names will be WAY of so you might have to rename them all.

You may have some real work to do… the music you have stored on your iPod will probably not show up, because they are stored as invisible files. If you use a Mac, you can go into Terminal and find them on the iPod, I am not sure if you can do anything similar from a Windows computer. Good luck.

Plug your I-Pod into your computer with the cable that you use to download songs onto your I-Pod. Then go into your Windows Media Player and there should be an icon that says from portable device or something like that.

Hook up the USB cable between the iPod and the computer. An icon (typically) will come up stating that you installed a removable drive (E: or F: or something). You can then browse the contents of your iPod, then “drag” copy what you want to your CD burner drive or whatever hard drive subdirectory you want.
