How do i uninstall ubuntu and install kubuntu instead?
If you have an Ubuntu livecd, then boot it, select ‘partition manager’ and unmount the partitions with Ubuntu on them, and then delete them. It is possible to install multiple desktop managers, I had Ubuntu 8.04 and installed the KDE desktop, but it is a bit like having two systems running at once, especially with downloading updates. Now I have 20GB for my root partition, 160GB for Home partition, and I just installed a KDE distribution by making another 20GB free – I’ll have a storage partition to share music/media files between both desktops and ‘XPi bookmark manager in Firefox to make sure boomarks I make in Gnome come up on any computer I use with Firefox. Personally, if you tried Ubuntu – I’d go for something different, like SuSe KDE. The problem is with KDE you say ‘wow, it looks quite nice’ and then ‘wow, how the f*** do you do that?’ and then ‘juz let me go back to gnome, so I can actually DO what I wanted to DO”.
