How do i uninvite wedding guests after save the date has been sent?
If you really want to avoid tension, you might have to plan something for a future date with them, such as visiting them in Scotland. However, people need to be understanding. It’s not the best situation but it’s also not the worst. I’d write to them and say: Dear ________: We are hoping this message finds you well! We recently sent you a save-the-date card for a wedding on such and such date. Since then, we have had to change our wedding plans, so there is no need to save that date any longer. While we still plan to have a private ceremony on that date, we have decided not to have a larger reception at this time. This has been a major decision for us and we so appreciate your understanding. etc.
Hi. A save-the-date is not a formal invitation, although you DO want to get the word out. You will need to do another mailing. It can be a small card (like a thank you note size). Simply say…….(using fictitious date/names as an example): We wanted to let our family and friends know that the wedding planned for June 12, 2010 between Cathy Jo Smith and Ryan Thomas Johnson has been changed to a very small and intimate wedding. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused you and ask for your love and support as we begin our life together. Then, sign your names.
