How do i unlock a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
The local police should be able to unlock it for you, but they’ll only do it for the car’s owner. They will probably run the plates, just to be certain, but be ready to either show them the registration after they open it, or the title beforehand. I’ve never met a police officer that wasn’t willing to help out! If they still won’t, one other option to try is to access the remote unlocking feature, but that’s hard to do, without the proper knowledge (google for it). On every car I’ve ever owned, the first thing I’ve always done is got a second key made, and carry both sets of keys with me. $2 is a small price to pay for never being locked out of your own car, and sure beats $100+ for replacing a window!
