The program is very intense and I would strongly advise you to purchase the literature at least to avoid injury, overtraining and other issues that may arise if you have not been properly educated on the P90X protocol. You may choose to go on their website for more information as well. The frequency really does depend on your level of fitness and recovery. I can do a video every day because there are enough variations for me to avoid overtraining, but this is purely subjective. Rule of thumb is to let a least one day of rest for smaller muscle groups (shoulders/arms) and two days of rest for larger muscle groups (legs/chest/back). You can maxmize your progress by filling the rest days with kenpo, core synergistics, yoga, x-stretch and plyometrics (although plyometrics is no filler and you really need to be on top of your game for that one).
