Suppose you want to target the range of sequence numbers 22-33. In the Find.. dialog, enter “22-33” to put halos around the 12 residues from 22 through 33. Now click Contacts… There, check Target Atoms with Halos. Now you are ready to Show Atoms Contacting Target. If there is more than one chain with residues 22-33, append a colon followed by the chain name you want. For chain B, enter “22-33:b” in Find… The mechanism used to select unnamed chains is detailed in Technical Information. • Contacting Atoms: Definitions The Contacts.. dialog in FirstGlance shows atoms likely to be noncovalently (or covalently) bonded to any target set of atoms that you select.
