How do I use Watercheck in a Simple Incubator?
1. Collect 100ml sample in jar Sieve filters out debris. Use equivalent evacuated flask with suction tube if worried about further contamination with hands. 2. Lock lid until irreversible Sample instantly contained in a controlled environment. Reduced risk with reduced exposure would have to transfer using a pipette to a plate in lab. 3. Depress button on lid (blue) to activate. Shake sample turns blue Pierces foil releasing chemical agents: i. Growth promoter provides ideal conditions (along with temp) for coliforms to replicate ii. Inhibitor prevents gram positive bacteria from multiplying iii. Colour agent 4. Label jar base source/time 5. Incubate upside down at 37oC ii. Manually: Using a lab incubator or supplied bottle warmer, keep at 37oC (may vary slightly either side). Fill the bottle warmer about half full with water so that the Watercheck jar does not float.
