How do modular homes compare to site-built housing?

0

[ TOP ] Typically, our cost per square foot is about half of that of site-built housing. This is due to building our homes in a factory, using proven assembly line methods. It is the same reason an automobile built on an assembly line is about half the cost that it would be if you assembled that same car one part at a time in your back yard! Factory building means no weather delays, better inventory control, reduced labor cost and better quality control. Factory building also lets us buy in volume, thus further reducing the cost of materials per home. Also, the materials used are virtually the same as used in site-built housing. We use nationally recognized brand name products such as Georgia Pacific, Rheem, Nordyne,Whirlpool, Shaw Carpets, General Electric, Owens Corning, etc.
