I’ve been in the military for thirty-two years and I live with myself just fine thank-you. The job of the military isn’t to kill people, no matter how many time you’ve seen “Band of Brothers”, that basic fact isn’t going to change. The job of the military isn’t to kill people… our job is to serve the people of our country. In my time in the military I’ve been many things; a sailor, a mentor, a teacher, a role-model, a brick-layer, a painter and more. Never once was I a baby killer, but I have reached into flood waters and pulled a drowning man to safety. Never once have I had to blow something up, yet I have worked long and hard with my fellow shipmates building a one room school-house in an extremely poor country. I’ve never had to visit violence on an enemy, but I’ve toiled in foreign lands to clean and preserve the graves of my fellow countrymen who did… and died.
