How do providers gain access to the Providers link on the CGI Medicare RAC Region B Website?
The CGI Medicare RAC Region B Website contains a Providers link on the main page. Access to that portion of the Website is accomplished using Knowledge Based Authentication. Providers must have either their Medicare ID or their NPI number. In addition, providers must also have a unique piece of information from a letter the provider receives from CGI (i.e. ADR Letter, Overpayment Demand Letter), or the allowed amount from a claim that was paid by Medicare within a specific date range. How this works: The page will request an identification number that will serve as the username for the RAC Provider site (NPI or Medicare ID). The page will request Knowledge Based information that will serve as the password for the RAC Provider Site (Letter ID or Allowed Amount).
