How do regents/heroes or adventurers affect battles?
Personally powerful characters can have an impact on battles, especially if they are small (since the combat values of the opposing armies are small, the heroes will have some impact). Apart from using an adventure action to aid the general war effort, heroes provided certain benefits during battle; check out Chapter 6: Armies & Warfare, and Chapter 10: Characters and Domains for additional details. Heroes frequently die in battle, so be warned.
