How do Schipperkes do with children?

Mixing dogs and children, especially small children, should never be taken lightly. In general, Schipperkes are very good with children of all ages. However, this will depend largely on the past experiences and training of your Schipperke, the ages of children involved, whether the children know how to treat animals with respect, the "alpha-ness" of the Schipperke, and many, many other factors. Until you are confident that both the dog(s) and child (children) can get along, do not leave them alone together-and even when you are confident, you should keep close watch.  more
