I don’t think the stories influence the modern world but the themes that have been used are timeless.I cannot speak for the Canterbury tales ,I have never studied them ,But King Arthur deals with good and evil, lust and jealousy ,Likewise Robin Hood ,deals with injustice ,and one persons stand against tyranny.
