Students are encouraged to take electives in another Mayo practice during their fourth year. The required fourth-year subinternship may be taken at any of the three sites, and Mayo Clinic generously supports students who elect to take this opportunity. Tremendous opportunities also are available for the research trimester or the Surgery III and Medicine III rotations in both Florida and Arizona.
