How do superheat subcooling tools work?
For superheat, they measure suction line pressure and suction line temperature, and calculate the actual superheat. For subcooling, they measure the liquid line pressure and liquid line temperature and calculate actual subcooling. The refrigerant charts for calculations are incorporated into the microprocessor of the unit. Just measure temperature and pressure and read superheat or subcooling directly.
