How do the Regional Honor Band Auditions work?

Auditions are ually on a Friday night and all day Saturday during the last weekend in January. Judges sit behind a screen so as to not know the identity of the auditioner. Auditions are closed to the public. Auditions consist of memorized Major scales, three prepared etudes and sight-reading.
