How do the revised standards affect retired actuaries who are Academy members?

If you are retired and will not be issuing SAOs, you are not required to comply with the revised standards. However, you must comply with all of the requirements in the standards if you choose to issue SAOs in the future. Having the MAAA designation does not automatically mean that an actuary is qualified under the Qualification Standards. Also, please note that the CE requirements in the revised standards apply only to actuaries who will be issuing SAOs. They do not apply to other Academy members.
