How do voodoo dolls work?

Similar to poppets. It is a tool used in a form of sympathetic magic, which is basically a belief that like can affect like. i.e., if I were to want to do a money spell, I would use actual coins and paper money in the spell. While magic can be used to wish harm or ill-will on another, this is not usually the goal of such practitioners. I would guess that the majority of the time such dolls are used to help others with healing, fertility, and the like.  more
