One of the electrical parts of the stove is the auger that feeds the desired amount of pellets from the hopper, down a chute and into the heating chamber. The pellets accumulate in a fire pot that receives a flow of air to keep the fire burning. The stove also needs electricity in order to perform other functions, such as operating an intake/outtake fan to pull fresh air in for combustion and to exhaust the noxious fumes out of the house through specially designed pellet pipe.
