How Do You Add A Special Blessing Ceremony To A Baby Shower?
Do you want to add a special ceremony to a baby shower that will have guests talking all the way up until the birth? Are you throwing a baby shower for someone really special? Do you want the guests at your baby shower to feel connected to the birth of your baby? I have used this blessing ceremony in several baby showers over the years; every time people leave feeling a powerful bond to the mother-to-be, the baby and the birth. Prior to the shower, write a word or phrase on slips of paper. You will need one slip of paper for each guest. Count yourself, the mother-to-be, and any guests that have not rsvp’d (in case they show up). The words you choose will be blessings for the baby (ex: grace, intelligence, sincerity, love, friendship, sense of humor, prosperity, etc). Prior to the shower, tape the slips of paper to the bottom of each candle. The words should be hidden underneath the candle. Place the candles on a tray or table to be used at the right time.
