How Do You Adjust Laptop Fan Settings?

0

The fan in your laptop computer helps expel the heat created from all the tightly compacted drives and moving pieces. Without the fan, your computer can easily overheat, causing serious damage to your system. Although Windows does not offer the option to adjust your fan speed or settings yet, Mac OS X does give you a few different fan setting options you can adjust. Download and add a FanControl application from the first link in References, below. Power on your Mac laptop and select the “System Preferences” icon in the bottom of the desktop. Select “Fan Control” Under the “Other” category at the bottom of the System Preferences window. A small Fan Control window now loads. Click the “Show Fahrenheit” box if you want all the information displayed in Fahrenheit. If you would rather have Celsius, deselect the option. Adjust the base speed of the fan by sliding the “Base Speed” controller left or right. Edit the lower and upper fan thresholds by clicking the sliding bar next to the option
