How Do You An Unusual Grilled Cheese Sandwich?

0

Everyone loves grilled cheese sandwiches. It is just part of the American way. However, I have made a very unusual spin on the regular grilled cheese sandwich. I saw this recipe on Food Network, Ham on the Street (while that show was still on). The twist to this grilled cheese sandwich is strawberry jam. Some people have said I was crazy, but don’t knock it until you try it. It is pure bliss of a grilled cheese. Preheat your griddle to 375 degrees. Butter each slice of bread. Place one deli slice of plain havarti cheese on the first piece of bread, then spread strawberry jam on that slice, then place another slice of havarti on top of that, then last piece of bread. (I use homemade freezer strawberry jam, but you can use any variety of preserves) Place sandwich butter side down on griddle and fry until bread is golden brown on both sides. Enjoy!
