How Do You Apply A Beautiful Baby Oil Finish To Wood Products?

0

You can add a subtle natural looking finish to most raw wood objects by rubbing them down with baby oil! Before using the baby oil (or plain mineral oil if you have some and don’t like the scent of baby oil), rub your hand over the entire object to feel if the wood still has any roughness. If it does, you will first need to use some very fine sand paper and/or furniture grade steel wool to buff off the surface. If you use sandpaper, remember that the higher the grade or grit number, the finer the paper. Whether you use sandpaper or steel wool, be sure to rub very gently. After you have smoothed the wood as described above, carefully remove any and all sawdust. Sawdust sticks to oil and will make a mess out of your otherwise beautiful project. I like to use compressed air like the kind that is sold to dust computers, because it does a very good job of reaching into any little crevices. Be sure to point the nozzle away from your face. The next step is applying the oil. Fold a clean piece
