My acting coach taught me a great way to prepare monologues. First, create a list of adjectives that describe how you want to portray your character, like sarcastic, mean, stupid, etc. Then, figure out the point of the monologue/what the speaker wants to convey. Find their main desire/goal, then on a scale of 1-10 rate how badly they want that goal. Now you should now how to portray your character. If you are doing one from a movie, the adjectives and such don't have to be how it was done in the movie, you can interpret the monologue any way you want. For blocking, make sure to use large hand gestures and do some movement. Pick out who your "audience" is. Not the people watching you, but the person your character is speaking to. That person could be next to you, off to the side, etc. If you're mad, walk away. If you're intimidating, pretend to get up in their face.
