How Do You Ask Good Interview Questions?
In an interview, it is crucial to come prepared with some questions to ask. Here are a few quick steps to coming up with your own insightful questions. Do Your Research. Research the company and use that information for questions; have they had a recent merger? If so, ask “How do you see the company changing in the next six months?” Think on Your Feet. If things come up in the interview, ask about them; it’s engaging. If they mention a program, ask for details. If they mention a company goal, ask them to expand on that. If they mention sales targets, inquire about the target histories. Never Ask About Money or Benefits. It’s uncouth and makes you look like you’re interested in the money, not the job. Have Solid Standbys. “How did this position become available?” is one of my favorites to ask. “Can you take me through the average day in this position?” or “What do you like best about working here?” Remember that your interviewer is as much a resource as they are your judge.
