How Do You Attach A Dryer Vent Hose?
For energy efficiency and to ensure the life of your clothes, you want your dryer vent to fit securely around the exhaust pipe. Obstruction in the pipe will lead to extra energy use and longer drying periods, which takes its toll on clothing. It is best that clothes are dried in as little time as possible to help preserve them. Before beginning this project, be sure you are working with no less than a 4-inch aluminum flex pipe for the dryer duct and have a clamp to attach to the end of the vent. This will ensure safety and efficiency. Using a round object such as a rolling pin, take the dryer vent and flatten 2 inches from the end by rolling the rolling pin inside the dryer vent. This will remove the ridges, allowing the vent to fit securely. Cut two to three slots in the dryer vent and continue to roll.
