Auditioning for a musical takes preparation, practice, and a well thought out plan. To land the role of your dreams, follow these steps and you’ll be more likely to get cast in the show! Thoroughly research the musical using the internet, your local library, and see the show if possible. Search videos online to see clips of the musical. Read the synopsis at the library and get a copy of it if possible. While doing the research, try to see what role fits you best. Ask yourself if you sound or look like one of the characters in the show. After you identify what role fits you best, you are well on your way to landing the role at the audition. Try to find a song that is NOT from the musical. This will be your audition song.
