How Do You Avoid A California Probation Violation?
If you’re like many people who pleaded guilty or were convicted of a crime in California and were then sentenced, you probably assumed that you couldn’t be punished any more. However, if you violate the terms of your probation, you can be charged with a separate criminal offense, have your probation revoked and even be sent to jail. Make sure you show up on time for every scheduled meeting with your probation officer. If you’re on formal probation you must attend regular meetings with your probation officer, typically once a month. Make it a priority to be there. Pay all fines, fees and restitution. The costs of a California criminal conviction can seem overwhelming, but it’s important that you do everything possible to pay them.
