Quiche Lorraine is a dish that was originalted in the German kingdom of Lothringen, which the French later renamed ‘Lorraine’. The work ‘quice’ is from the German ‘Kuchen’ meaning kitchen. Aside from that, quiche is a very delicious dish that can be enjoyed anytime of the year, and it consists of cheese, eggs, veggies, and a meat. It also goes great with a mixed salad too! Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion in butter until lightly browned, about 7 minutes. Stir in spinach, mushrooms, feta and 1/2 cup cheddar cheese in pan. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon mixture into pie crust. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. Pour into the pastry shell, allowing egg mixture to thoroughly combine with spinach mixture. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Sprinkle top with remaining cheddar cheese, and bake on additional 35 to 40 until center is set. Allow to stand for 10 minutes and enjoy.
