The miniature pinscher, or min pin, has a coat that is composed of short, smooth hair. It is simple to groom these smaller dogs, and often they can be wiped down with a damp cloth. Then there are times that your miniature pinscher will get into a mud puddle or other situation that requires a bath. Bathing your miniature pinscher should only be done when absolutely necessary, as these smaller dogs can easily catch a chill because of their slight stature and weight. Trim out any mud or other sticky substances that may be caught in the dog’s coat with a small pair of cuticle scissors. Place a drop of mineral oil into each of the dog’s eyes. This will protect the eyes from any soap. Place cotton balls into the ears. This will protect the dog’s inner ear canals from water. Fill a bathtub until it is at the level of the dog’s knees.
