How Do You Bathe A Sphynx Cat?

0

Most cats have shiny, smooth coats of fur that are conditioned by oils from their skin. When the cat licks its fur, it removes the residue. The Sphynx cat, however, has no fur, so oil from its skin has nowhere to go. It stays on the skin, gathers dust and dirt, and you can end up with messy carpets, furniture and clothing. Bathing a Sphynx cat, then, becomes a necessity both for it and you. Most Sphynx cats don’t like baths. Instead, wet a soft wash cloth with warm water and wring out the excess. Place your cat on a sink counter, or in an empty sink, and hold him still. Be firm but gentle. If this is his first bath, he’ll probably be a little nervous. Rub the wash cloth over his skin. You should immediately notice the dirt washing away. Rub gently — it’s easy to irritate his skin. Be sure to clean his head and inside his ears. He should calm down and perhaps even purr as he grows accustomed to the warm water and loving attention. Dry your Sphynx cat by wrapping him in a soft towel. Id
