How Do You Become A Horse Vet?
An equine or horse veterinarian is a specialized veterinarian who travels to farms and ranches to treat horses. They test the animals for and vaccinate them against diseases. They also talk with ranch and farm owners about feeding, animal production and housing issues. Horse veterinarians assist with the birthing of colts and can euthanize horses if necessary. Attend college and focus your studies on a pre-veterinary major or biology. Take classes like math, social sciences, biology, humanities, physics and chemistry. Take admission exams to be considered for equine veterinarian programs.
