How Do You Become A State Trooper In North Carolina?
North Carolina State Highway Patrol Troopers are full-time law enforcement officers. They patrol roads to enforce laws regarding moving motor vehicles and provide assistance to travelers in duress. Citizens between the ages of 19 and one-half years old and 39 years old who are residents of North Carolina may apply for a trooper position. Certain restrictions apply to people who do not meet physical fitness requirements and to those who have committed felonies. Graduate from high school or receive an equivalency diploma (G.E.D.).
