Race officials for the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) do different jobs for racing events, such as being a scrutineer, flagger or a timing and scoring official. Workers for SCCA are given a license when they come onboard. SCCA allows you to work your way up through four levels of licenses. Read on to learn how to become an SCCA race official. Step 1 Join the SCCA. To become a race official, you should first be a member of the organization. Step 2 Apply online to become an SCCA race official. You can specify your desired specialty and wait to be contacted by a representative in your area. Visit your local region’s website or go to the general SCCA website to get directed to your local region.
